DAY 1 : Kilimanjaro International Airport - Arusha City


Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, our representative will meet you and drive you to your hotel for a first evening in Tanzania. Arusha is a major international diplomatic hub. The city hosts and is regarded as the de facto capital of the East African Community. Arusha is surrounded by some of Africa's most famous landscapes and national parks. Situated below Mount Meru on the eastern edge of the eastern branch of the Great Rift Valley, it has a mild climate.

The road transfer from the Kilimanjaro International Airport to your lodge will take about 1 hour, so sit back and enjoy the ride through the city's sub-urban arriving at your lodge for a well deserved overnight.

DAY 2 : Arusha City


The snake park is a special treasure of Arusha, a wonderful source of enjoyment and relaxation for locals and foreign visitors. The snake park is located 25km west of Arusha on the route to the Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Crater.

The snake park provides various activities, take a guided tour and learn about some of the most dangerous snakes in the world, from the Black and Green Mamba, Egyptian Cobra, Puff Adders and many more. Capture your special moment and hold a real live snake. Check out the 3m plus crocodiles at feeding time and touch a baby crocodile.

The park is home to a variety of snakes common in Eastern and Southern Africa from the Black Mamba to the Black and Red spitting Cobras and the African Python. There are approximately 48 snakes you can view.

Other reptiles at the park include Moniter Lizards, Tortoises, Crocodiles, and a few species of birds that have been orphaned or injured and would not survive if they where returned to the wild. Meserani Snake Park is a great place to learn about some of Africa's less notorious, but most efficient predators.

DAY 3 : Tarangire National Park - Karatu


Today is committed to a full day game drive safari in Tarangire National Park. Imagine hundreds of zebra stripes reflecting in still waters. Imagine the looming silhouette of elephants burnt into the crimson sunset. Imagine the sight of ghostly baobab trees scattered across shimmering grasslands. These features are not figments of imagination – these features are just a taste of what Tarangire is all about!

The most spectacular feature of Tarangire is that it serves as a place of refuge for the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania.Elephant viewing in Tarangire is outstanding and it is likely that you will see hundreds of elephants in a single day.

Set against stunning scenery, elephant viewing will undoubtedly prove to be one of the biggest highlights for a safari in Tarangire. DAY 4 : Maasai Village - Karatu


The morning will be spent sharing in the native village of Maasai families, discovering their culture. The Maasai are a Nilotic ethnic group of semi-nomadic people located in Kenya and northern Tanzania. They are among the most well known of African ethnic groups, due to their distinctive customs and dress and residence near the many game parks of East Africa. We will also do a walk to learn more about aboriginal plants. After that you will return to camp for breakfast and then start to walk across peaceful animal corridors in the Great Rift Valley. This will give us the opportunity to see Africa from a slow pace perspective. While walking, our guide will educate you on aboriginal plants and birds. The walking safari is specifically designed to circle back to camp. You will then go back to camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 : Ngorongoro Crater - Karatu


Today, you will visit the Ngorongoro crater, the main feature is a large, unbroken, unfolded volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago, is 610m (2,000 ft.) deep and its floor covers 260 km² (100 sq. mi). The crater floor is mostly open grassland with two small wooded areas dominated by Acacia xanthophloea.

Game drives through the Ngorongoro Crater begin early in the morning in closed safari vehicles with pop – up roofs. Accompanied by an expert driver guide, a magnificent experience is sure to be had! The descent into the crater is one of scenic beauty, as you make your way through lush forests, home to numerous elephants and buffalo. As you reach the inside of the Ngorongoro Crater, marvelling at the incredible landscape around you, your guide will take you through the grassy crater floor, the unbelievable fever tree forest, the banks of Lake Magadi and the surrounding marshes. Lunch is served picnic style, surrounded by the natural wonders around you as well as the exceptional wildlife, roaming freely, with which you share this extraordinary paradise.

DAY 6 : Mto wa Mbu - Karatu


Mto wa Mbu is situated on the way from Arusha to the national parks in northern Tanzania, just at the foot of the Rift Valley. Located on the way to Ngorongoro and Serengeti, it is an ideal resting place for most safari travellers.

Get an inside look at the homes and exquisite craft of Mto wa Mbu’s many tribes. Visitors will get a chance to meet locals and learn about banana beer, Makonde woodcarvings, and the tribal painting techniques; the village provides a great introduction to everyday life in Africa.

Enjoy a delicious, home-cooked meal in a local Mom’s home. Over lunch, the guide will provide a history of the region and the many local tribes.

DAY 7 : Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Serengeti National Park


After breakfast, leave Ngorongoro heading for the endless plains of Serengeti to visit the Olduvai Gorge is a canyon carved by water through the southern part of the Serengeti Plain. The gorge is about 50 km long and in some places 90 metres deep. It drains the slopes of the nearby mountains plus the Serengeti Plain. We will visit the historic site know as "The Cradle of Mankind" where the world famous archeologist, Dr Leakey, discovered the remains of the early man.

After the visit to Olduvai Gorge, we will drive into the famous Serengeti National Park. Serengeti National Park quite simply offers the finest game viewing anywhere in Africa. Unrivaled concentrations of wildlife, stunningly beautiful landscapes and vast pristine areas make Serengeti National Park our pick for the best national park in the whole of Africa. As the sun sets you will be driven to your camp arriving in time to enjoy dinner and later overnight.

DAY 8 : Serengeti National Park


Morning departure for a safari through the famous Serengeti. The Serengeti Plain is a natural savannah straddling Tanzania and Kenya. The most common species found in the "endless plains" are black wildebeest, impala, zebra and buffalo. It also includes jackals, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, elephants, almost all types of antelopes and a rich bird life where birds of prey, big and small, and a various species of vultures are well represented. The Serengeti is probably the most famous game reserve in Tanzania. The park covers 14,763 km square, but the ecosystem is much larger, extending over the Masai Mara, Kenya and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

DAY 9 : Serengeti National Park - Arusha Airport - Arusha City


After breakfast you will leave your camp/lodge for the transfer to the Serengeti airstrip. You will enjoy an early morning game drive enroute stopping for last minute game viewing and photographing. You will be required to arrive at the airstrip atleast an hour before departure time.

The flight usually takes about an hour so sit back and enjoy the scenic flight over the Serengeti plains and onto Arusha. Upon arriving at the Arusha airport, you will be met by an East African Voyage representative who will pick you up and transfer you to your next destination.

You will be transfered from Arusha Airport to your hotel in Arusha city. Upon your arrival at Arusha Airport our representative will meet and greet you and will drive you to your first day in Arusha. DAY 10 : Arusha City - Kilimanjaro International Airport


You will be ready to be driven to Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will enjoy a panoramic drive through the city's sub-urbans and it's environs. Your driver guide will see you off at the Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight back home.
